The Sunday Post is a blog news meme hosted by  Caffeinated Reviewer . It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog and showcase books and things we have received. Share news about what is coming up on your blog for the week ahead. Join in weekly, bi-weekly or for a monthly wrap up. The Sunday Salon (hosted by  ReaderBuzz ) is a place to link up and share what we have been doing during the week. It's a great opportunity to visit other blogs and join in the conversations going on there.  What I Did: I had a pretty quiet start to the week. Thursday, I drove 2 hours to my moms and had dinner with her, my step dad and 3 of my siblings - one of our better Thanksgivings honestly so that was nice. Friday, I went to my local used bookstore for their annual Black Friday Sale (it's the only sale they do through the year and it's fun because you pick an envelope out of a bowl and a slip of paper inside has the special you receive, this year I got 35%...

Let's Talk Bookish: Bookish Etiquette

Image
Let’s Talk Bookish is a weekly (Friday) meme originally created by Ruk ky @ Et ernity Books  and co-hosted by  Aria @  Book Nook  Bits  and  Dini  @dinipandareads ! I n this bookish discussion meme, bloggers get to discuss certain topics, share opinions, and spread love by visiting each other’s posts. November 28: Bookish Etiquette ( Laurie @ Laurie Is Reading ) Prompts:   There’s always a lot of bookish discourse ongoing on social media. People talk about selling ARCs (Advanced Reader Copies), tagging authors and publishers in reviews, only posting positive reviews— we’ve seen it all! Do you think there’s something such as “bookish etiquette”? Why or why not? What do you think are some dos and don’ts as readers and/or reviewers? Do you agree with all the discourse, or do you stay far away from all the drama?      This is such an interesting topic. I kind of toe the line on bookish etiquette and what I think is right and wrong. I al...

Down the TBR Hole #17

Image
Down The TBR Hole is a meme created by  Lost in a Story , but she has permitted  I’m Into Books  to adopt it since she is no longer blogging. I always see  Confessions of a YA Reader  do this and I have been wanting to give it a shot myself as my Goodreads to-read shelf has  653 books  on it - we are on page 4 of the list now so we are making progress. I like to go with 10 books. It works like this: Go to your goodreads to-read shelf. Order on ascending date added. Take the first 5 (or 10 (or even more!) if you’re feeling adventurous) books. Of course, if you do this weekly, you start where you left off the last time. Top Ten Tuesday: Recs by the Alphabet - A

Image
Top Ten Tuesday was created by  The Broke and the Bookish  in June of 2010 and was moved to  That Artsy Reader Girl  in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together. November 25th: Freebie In 2025, I got really into doing an alphabet challenge and I am even super close to completing it - not sure if it's beginners luck or if the amount of reading I do just making it easier for me but I had a lot of fun and I will be doing it again in 2026. I wanted to start creating rec lists for each letter of the alphabet to challenge myself and to share books that I enjoy with others that might also be doing the challenge. Have you read any of these? Let me know in the comments.     1. Anchor by Nicole Blanchard 2. Afterland by Lauren Beukes 2. A Treachery of Swans by A.B. Poranek 4. Alive and Wells by Bailey Hannah 5. A Polar Expedition and Other Stimulating Research Opportunities by Kass O'Shire 6...

ARC Review: Longing For The Minotaur by Lyonne Riley

Image
My rating: 3 Stars Thank you to Lyonne Riley for the ARC of this novella! I love monster romances so much especially when the monster is a minotaur - I don't even know what it is about them that has them hitting so well. Longing For The Minotaur has Valentina who has been crushing on her mean step brother since she met him as a preteen and Banon who has also secretly been crushing on Valentina. I enjoyed that this was dual POV - being able to learn just how long they wanted each other from each of their POV's really hit different. I liked the smut a lot - I am a sucker for size differences and the way that Banon worshiped Val was so good. My main issue with this novella is the lack of conflict - it was almost too easy for Val and Banon to be together when they should have had a little bit of trouble from at least their married parents.  Synopsis: Valentina has always had a complicated relationship with Banon, the son of the minotaur woman her father married. He’s drop dead g...

Wednesday, I took my weekly trip to the library. Saturday and Sunday, I am going to read and rest as one last quiet weekend before the  holidays begin with Thanksgiving next week. What I Read: Big reading week for me...

Let's Talk Bookish: End of Year Reading Goals

November 21:  End-of-Year Reading Goals? Prompts:   What books do you want to read before the end of the year? Are there any new releases you’re still looking forward to? What goals did you set at the beginning of the year? Have you changed or added to those goals? I don't have too many books left that I want to read by the end of the year - I am honestly a big mood reader so we will see where my mood takes me. Right now, I have a focus on winter/holiday themed books - last year I read 11 Holiday themed, so I am shooting for 12 this year. This is terrible of me to admit but I don't remember what I originally set my 2025 reading goal for. ...

Reading Challenge: Novella Readathon / Mini Reviews

Image
I recently saw a tiktok from @NYCbookhoe where she spent an entire day reading only novellas and I decided I wanted to challenge myself to do the same thing. I started at 10am on a Sunday and had reading novellas as my focus for the day and I lasted until 7pm. Overall, I really enjoyed this mini readathon. At the end of the day, I found that I had spent way less time on my phone and I didn't have the Sunday Scaries (this is what I like to call the dread that fills me the day before a work week begins) like I normally do. I made it through 3.25 Novellas during the day and below are mini reviews for the 3 that I finished. I can see myself doing this again in the future - maybe in December to push me closer to my goal of 200 books (I am less than 20 away). The Unsolved Murder of Kevin Walsh by KJ Sweet | 3 Stars The Unsolved Murder of Kevin Walsh follows Bianca as a case of mistaken identity leads to her being kidnapped by a mysterious man -Orlock is what Bianca later names him- one w...

Tell Me Something Tuesday: Early Bird or Night Owl?

Image
That's What I'm Talking About 's Tell Me Something Tuesday   is a weekly discussion post where bloggers discuss a wide range of topics from books and blogging to life in general.  November 18th: Are you an early bird or a night owl? To my own horror, I have recently become an early bird. Growing up and well into my 20's, I always stayed up as late as I possibly could and swore that I would never become the type of adult that got up at 6am for no reason but within the last couple of years, I have found myself going to bed earlier and earlier and getting up earlier than I need to. It's like a switch has been flipped inside my brain and suddenly I am one of those adults that get up at 6am for no reason. I do still like staying up late and then sleeping in - I like the way the world feels in the middle of the night but there is only so much fighting I can do against my own brain when it wants to go to bed at a reasonable hour. I have found that I enjoy having time to re...

Review: Anchor by Nicole Blanchard

Image
My rating: 3 Stars This book surprised me! I knew from the synopsis that there was going to be a conflict that brought the two main characters together, but I thought it would be brief in the beginning - it's the first 50% of the book and it had me on the edge of my seat the entire time. I loved how committed to his daughter Gabe is and how his little one was the one to insist that he go save the woman that saved her. I loved how badass Chloe was - she refused to back down against the bad guys and she refused to see innocent people get hurt.  I think my favorite thing about this book came near the end when the two characters make it clear that they've just met and they have a lot to learn about each other but they both want to see where things between them can go. I found it to be refreshing and realistic - I hate in fiction when two people act like they are madly in love after only knowing each other for a brief time.  Synopsis:  He'll do anything to save her. Fo...
