ARC Review: Longing For The Minotaur by Lyonne Riley

My rating: 3 Stars

Thank you to Lyonne Riley for the ARC of this novella!

I love monster romances so much especially when the monster is a minotaur - I don't even know what it is about them that has them hitting so well. Longing For The Minotaur has Valentina who has been crushing on her mean step brother since she met him as a preteen and Banon who has also secretly been crushing on Valentina. I enjoyed that this was dual POV - being able to learn just how long they wanted each other from each of their POV's really hit different. I liked the smut a lot - I am a sucker for size differences and the way that Banon worshiped Val was so good. My main issue with this novella is the lack of conflict - it was almost too easy for Val and Banon to be together when they should have had a little bit of trouble from at least their married parents.

Synopsis:

Valentina has always had a complicated relationship with Banon, the son of the minotaur woman her father married. He’s drop dead gorgeous, full of himself, and football runs in his blood. Even though he was instrumental in the misery and bullying that were her high school years, Val has always held a torch for him. Now in college, she thinks she’s finally moved on from her childhood crush.

Though he tries to hide it, Banon has hungered after Valentina for too long. She’s consumed his every thought for years, even as he put distance between them. When the dam breaks over the holidays and the truth emerges, will Banon and Valentina’s burning cravings finally erupt into a fire?
