Top Ten Tuesday: Fall Covers

Image
Top Ten Tuesday was created by  The Broke and the Bookish  in June of 2010 and was moved to  That Artsy Reader Girl  in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together. September 30: Book Covers that Give off Fall Vibes I just went with covers that had colors that I associate with fall which looks apparently is just the color orange lol

ARC Review: Coronation by Cleo White

Thank you to Luna Literary for the ARC of this book.  There is always one thing that I know I am going to get from a Cleo White novel: good smut. Coronation has King Benedict - a grumpy man who is resigned to his fate as King of his small country after the death of his older much better brother and Zelda - an American actress who finds herself filming a movie in said small country. The two meet and have an instant connection at an exclusive sex party. The two spend the weekend together after the party until Benedict abruptly takes off, leaving her behind without a word. Overall, I liked this book. Benedict was frustrating for a bit but once he pulled his head out of butt and realized he could be with Zelda, I liked the effort that he put into showing her that he was committed and that she could trust him. I wished that Zelda had more of a personality - outside of being an actress, she didn't have much depth and she spent most of the book just worrying about her relationship with Be...

Monday, I took my weekly trip to the library and because I didn't go last week, they had 6 holds waiting for me so that was kind of exciting. Tuesday, DnD  was cancelled so I worked on drafts of future blog posts. Wednesday, my job had their annual employee appreciation dinner and my gift for the year was a crockpot so that was exciting. Thursday, I went grocery shopping to prepare for a road trip that I am goin...

Let’s Talk Bookish is a weekly (Friday) meme originally created by  Rukky @  Eternity Books  and co-hosted by  Aria @  Book Nook  Bits  and  Dini  @dinipandareads ! In this bookish discussion meme, bloggers get to discuss certain topics, share opinions, and spread love by visiting each other’s posts. September 19: Favourite Genre Recommendations Prompts: What is your favourite genre(s) and what makes it your favourite? If someone wanted to try your favourite genre(s), what are five books that you would recommend to them and why those books specifically? Has your favorite genre changed over time? I am probably about to sound really basic, but Romance is my favorite genre. I love when I pick up a romance novel, I know that it's going to be a happy ending. I love reading the characters finding themselves and each other. I often end up kicking my feet and grinning at the pages as the characters finally kiss or as they have fun banter.  Picki...

Down The TBR Hole is a meme created by  Lost in a Story , but she has permitted  I’m Into Books  to adopt it since she is no longer blogging. Go to your goodreads to-read shelf. Order on ascending date added. Take the first 5 (or 10 (or even more!) if you’re feeling adventurous) books. Review: The Knight and The Moth

Image
I have to start by saying that I really dislike the cover of this book. Something about it bugs my brain and if I had judged this book by I would have been missing out. I loved this book. The book follows Sybil or Six as she goes by for most of the book as she reaches the end of her tenure as a diviner - a role where she dreams of omens. One day, the new young king and his knights arrive at the cathedral where Sybil and her fellow Diviners live - through this trip, Sybil meets Rodrick - a grumpy non believer knight who goes by Rory. Days later, Sybil's fellow Diviners begin to go missing one by one, leading Sybil to hunt down King Benedict and his knights for help. Sybil goes down such an interesting path in this book. She finds out that everything she has known in her life is a lie and she essentially loses her religion. I liked her in general, and I really liked her growth and her strength. I also really liked Rory and the banter between him and Sybil. They were everything that I...

I did get to work at our 2nd much much much slower location for 2 days so that was a nice change of pace. Tuesday was DnD day, not much happened as our group needed to meet the new character of the guy who's character died during our last session - lots of the characters chatting around a fire which was still fun. Thursday, I only worked a half day due to working on Saturday so I was super produc...

First Line Friday & Friday 56: Play Nice by Rachel Harrison

Image
Welcome to First Line Friday! This is a weekly feature hosted by Carrie at  Reading Is My Superpower . The idea is very simple: you just share the first line (or lines) of the book you are currently reading.  "We're coming up on midnight. The room is loud, everyone champagne drunk, ignorant of volume, and, wow, the air in here is intense, all hot breath and designer perfume." Friday56 is hosted by  HeadFullOfBooks RULES: * Grab a book, any book * Turn to page 56 or 56% in your e-reader  (If you want to improvise, go ahead!) * Find a snippet, but no spoilers! * Post it  to your blog and add your url to the Linky. If you do not add the specific url for your post, we may miss it!  * Visit other blogs and leave comments about their snippets. Expand the community. Please leave a comment for me, too!    Page 56: "I'll go by and check it out. See what work needs to be done. What potential there is. I could spend time there over the summer. Paint, ...
