What I Did:

I had kind of a hectic week. Monday, I took my weekly trip to the library and because I didn't go last week, they had 6 holds waiting for me so that was kind of exciting. Tuesday, DnD  was cancelled so I worked on drafts of future blog posts. Wednesday, my job had their annual employee appreciation dinner and my gift for the year was a crockpot so that was exciting. Thursday, I went grocery shopping to prepare for a road trip that I am going on Saturday, and I cleaned out my car. Friday, I had an author zoom chat for the Coastal Magic Convention Reading Challenge and I packed for my trip. Saturday, I got up super early and drove down to Tennessee to spend the weekend at a volunteer retreat with my friends where we helped with tasks for my friend's gender affirming care product non-profit. Sunday, we had breakfast at Waffle House (exciting for me as well don't have any in my home state) and then we went to a couple of local shops before settling in to spend the day working on jobs for the non profit. 

What I Read:

I finished The Woman in Cabin 10 by Ruth Ware and can't say that I was really a fan. I read Mooncakes by Suzanne Walker & Wendy Xu and that was a cute read. I finished an ARC of Coronation by Cleo White and liked that quite a bit. I worked on reading an ARC of Bloody Black by Rhiannon Hargadon. I also started Tusk Love by Thea Guanzon.

    We have a new Waffle House in our town, and it sounds like I should check it out.

Top Ten Tuesday: Sapphire Book Covers

Top Ten Tuesday was created by  The Broke and the Bookish  in June of 2010 and was moved to  That Artsy Reader Girl  in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together. The September 2nd, topic for Top Ten Tuesday is jobs with Occupations in the title but despite my best efforts, I could not find 10 books that I would like to list so I decided to go rogue for the week.  I recently discovered Books Are The New Black's Birthstone Book Covers series and knew that I wanted to participate in September as I am a September baby and thanks to my grandma who was also born in September, I have always had a love for my birthstone - Sapphire.  Here are 10 books with dark blue covers: Have you read any of these? It's a great opportunity to visit other blogs and join in the conversations going on there.  What I Did: I purposely had a quieter week, work has had me feeling drained so outside of that, I wanted to do a whole lot of nothing. Saturday, I went to an indie bookstore in my state where Sloan Spencer was signing and then later in the evening, I had a video game night with a couple of friends.
