Down The TBR Hole #1

Image
Down The TBR Hole is a meme created by Lost in a Story , but she has permitted I’m Into Books to adopt it since she is no longer blogging. I always see Confessions of a YA Reader do this and I have been wanting to give it a shot myself as my Goodreads to-read shelf has 675 books on it. It works like this: Go to your goodreads to-read shelf. Order on ascending date added. Take the first 5 (or 10 (or even more!) if you’re feeling adventurous) books. Of course, if you do this weekly, you start where you left off the last time. Read the synopses of the books Decide: keep it or should it go This week's books: Just Haven't Met You Yet by Sophie Cousens Forget Me Not by Melissa Morgan Sweethands by N.G. Peltier Last Chance Books by Kelsey Rodkey The Dead List by Jennifer L Armentrout Keeping: I removed 2 and kept 3.

Book Review: Cash by Jessica Peterson

Image
Cash by Jessica Peterson opens up with Mollie Lucky learning that her deceased father has left her his ranch and his entire fortune - all she has to do is live on his ranch for an entire year. Cash Rivers, her fathers right hand man is at this meeting and the two of them butt heads immediately, sitting the stage for a dislike to lovers romance. Mollie tries to not live on the ranch but she needs the monthly inheritance for her designed boot business so she moves into the house that her father built for her mother before their divorce. I'll be the first to admit that I have dead daddy issues, it's no secret. But my issues really had me not liking Mollie at all. The way that she treated her dad poorly except for when she needed money made me mad. The way she was throwing a fit because he wanted her to live on his land before she was just handed all of his fortune made me mad. I hated it all. Especially as we learn more about how things went down between her mom and dad. Her paren...

Sunday Post Meme

Image
The Sunday Post is a blog news meme hosted by Caffeinated Reviewer . It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog and showcase books and things we have received. Share news about what is coming up on your blog for the week ahead. Join in weekly, bi-weekly or for a monthly wrap up. I had a fairly good week. I was on PTO on Monday and Tuesday and I had D&D with some friends on Tuesday. I had dinner with two of my siblings on Wednesday. I went to the local library and their annual used book sale on Thursday. One of my favorite artists released a new album on Friday and on Saturday, I went to my friends wedding reception and I got to dress up and hang out with my friends & coworkers so that was lovely. I am even trying out a local silent book club this afternoon.

First Line Friday: The Other Side of Midnight

Image
Welcome to First Line Friday! This is a weekly feature hosted by Carrie at  Reading Is My Superpower . The idea is very simple: you just share the first line (or lines) of the book you are currently reading.  As usual, I am kind of cheating with First Line Friday as I am going through my list of all time favorite first lines. "The man who sat before me at seven o clock on a Tuesday evening was lying." Synopsis :  London, 1925. Glamorous medium Gloria Sutter made her fortune helping the bereaved contact loved ones killed during the Great War. Now she's been murdered at one of her own séances, after leaving a message requesting the help of her former friend and sole rival, Ellie Winter. Ellie doesn't contact the dead—at least, not anymore. She specializes in miraculously finding lost items. Still, she can't refuse the final request of the only other true psychic she has known. Now Ellie must delve into Gloria's secrets and plunge back into the world of hucksters...
