ARC Review: Fallen by Ashley Warren

My Rating: 3 Stars

Thank you to Luna Literary for an ARC of this book!

I don't read many Mafia books so this was a lot of fun for me. I liked how obsessed Enzo was and with how far he decided to go to get Zara back. I also really liked the power that Enzo had and that he had Zara's back in what she needed to do to move on. In general, Zara is such a badass and is a very strong FMC. My biggest dislike in this book was the lack of buildup in the relationship between Zara and Enzo. They had an amazing night together (my favorite part of the book honestly) and then didn't see each other for 2 years. When they meet again, Zara is forced into a marriage with him and then she very quickly falls for him. I get that they clicked but I would have loved for there to be more of them getting to know each other before declaring that they were in love.

Synopsis:

When Zara Kavanagh and Enzo Marchetti shared one reckless, unforgettable night two years ago, they never imagined it would become the spark that ignited a war between two rival crime families. Now, they’ve been pushed into a strategic marriage built on power instead of trust, and Zara finds herself torn between the life she escaped and the man she never truly forgot.

Enzo is cold, calculating, and unapologetically ruthless. But the more time they spend together, the more Zara begins to see past the armor he wears for the world. With her father’s betrayal still casting long shadows and old enemies beginning to resurface, their unlikely partnership starts to look a lot like something real. And with a chemistry that burns hotter than either of them expected, giving in to desire might be the easy part. Especially when the truth they uncover could change everything.
