Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.
July 28: Books I HAD to Have Immediately but Still Haven’t Read
My physical TBR - books that I own and still haven't read - is over 200 books so making this list was tough. I used Goodreads and my memory to go with books that I have owned the longest. May not be 100% accurate as I am sure some of these have been on my to read shelf longer than I have owned them.
- A Promised Land by Barack Obama
- For Your Own Good by Samantha Downing
- Husband Material by Alexis Hall
- Love, Magic & Misfortune by Carla Nikole
- This Woven Kingdom by Tahereh Mafi
- Happy Place by Emily Henry
- They Drown Our Daughters by Katrina Monroe
- Lute by Jennifer Thorne
- Ace by Angela Chen
- Redemptor by Jordan Ifueko

I have not read A Promised Land yet either.
ReplyDeleteI've enjoyed many of Emily Henry's books and I've been really getting into memoirs lately so the Barack Obama book looks good too. I hope you enjoy all of these!
ReplyDeleteThis Woven Kingdom is still on my TBR as well but I remember being so excited that I got my hands on a copy. I also still need to read Obama's book, but thankfully my dad is the owner of that copy and not me (so I feel slightly less guilty about not reading it yet)! 🤣
ReplyDeleteI was so excited for it too! I bought a copy the week it came out and it's just been chilling on my shelf ever since.
DeleteI really enjoyed Happy Place. Hope you'll love all of these whenever you get to them!
ReplyDeleteI am hoping to read Happy Place this summer!
DeleteI haven't read any of these, but know SO many love Emily Henry's books so I am sure that one is a well-loved title. :) Hope you enjoy these all and thanks for visiting my list today.
ReplyDeleteI haven't read any of these, Emily Henry is hit or miss for me so I am very cautious around her books.
ReplyDeleteI loved Beach Read by her a lot and now I am hesitant to read any of her other books.
DeleteI have This Woven Kingdom on my own TBR. Love, Magic & Misfortune and Lute look interesting to me. I hope you enjoy all of these when you get to them :)

I'm not sure I own 200 books let alone 200 I haven't read!! I'm part jealous and part relieved because I think owning that many unread books would stress me out 😂 The 20 unread books I own stress me out enough! Good luck with your TBR! I hope you enjoy all these if you ever get to them!
ReplyDeleteI like to say that book reading and book buying are too separate hobbies lol
DeleteI have read A Promised Land. It's very interesting and very personable because Obama has a great manner to him but it's also very heavy on policy and I'm not American, so I did get bogged down in that. I also got the audio after I read it in print, which I haven't finished because it's like, a million hours, but I do like listening to him talk. Husband Material was really disappointing to me after Boyfriend Material, which I loved. I just bought Father Material, I hope I like it more. I also really like Happy Place.
ReplyDeleteI hope you enjoy them all when you get the chance to read them.
ReplyDeleteHere's my TTT for the week: https://readbakecreate.com/the-ten-holiday-reads-on-my-tbr-the-longest/
I think I probably have about the same amount unread on my shelves too.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing your #TTT
Glad i'm not the only one with that many!
DeleteI haven't read any of these either. I hope you enjoy them when you get to them!
ReplyDeleteHappy TTT (on a Wednesday)!
Oh, this is an interesting topic. Becoming by Michelle Obama, Iron and Magic by Ilona Andrews (Audiobook, I've read the ebook), The Kinsmen Universe by Ilona Andrews, and The Bishop's Lady by Ashley Gardner are a few on my list.
ReplyDeleteI hope you get to enjoy them soon
ReplyDeleteI still have A Promised Land to read as well. I hope you get a chance to read these and that you enjoy them.
