Jonah and the Narwhal follows a lynx shifter named Jonah as an unexpected heat leads him to discovering that his fated mate is his employer of two years, a narwhal shifter doctor named Edwin. What follows is a low angst, age gap, smutty good time. I am a big fan of fated mates, like just the way the characters click together and how they are exactly what has been missing from each other's lives always hits for me. This book gets points for surprising me during the smut as Edwin gets quite creative with his narwhal horn during a partial shift - can't say I have ever read anything like that before. I liked the consideration that went into the mpreg side of things - narwhals and lynx are very different so I'm glad that the author added conversation about that. I can't wait to read more books in the series.
