What I Did:
Where I live, we had a very cold week with it reaching the negatives multiple times so outside of working, I wasn't really up for doing much. Wednesday, I took my weekly trip to the library. Thursday, I did my weekly grocery shopping. Saturday, I ended up having lunch with my mom, my sister, my aunt and a cousin which were last minute plans and honestly a nice time with lots of laughs. Sunday, I will be heading to my friends for a DnD session - send good vibes for my character because last time this group met up, she almost died twice.
What I Read:
A slower reading week for me. Started the week with The River Has Roots by Amal El-Mohtar (3.5 Stars), I finally finished Chatter (The Voice in Our Head, Why It Matters and How to Harness It) by Ethan Kross - a non fiction book that I have been reading lowkey for MONTHS. I have also been working on the Assassin's Apprentice by Robin Hobb, Until The Clock Strikes Midnight by Alechia Dow and Out of the Woods by Hannah Bonam-Young.
What I Checked Out From The Library:
None - I still went to the library, but I didn't have any holds in, and no book caught my eye when I did some looking around.
Books I Bought:None - I am putting myself on a book buying ban for the month of January.

i joined a few challenges too but have submitted only one book so far.
ReplyDeleteI am reading all over the place right now. I keep getting distracted by other things.
ReplyDeleteI hope your D&D character survives this week.
That is a mood. Thank you!
DeleteI like the way you do your challenges update! Maybe I can sign up for a few challenges and start tracking while I'm staying dry and warm inside today. Also wanted to say, my son rejoined the D&D club at school starting this week. I always think it looks like fun!
ReplyDeleteThank you! I love doing challenges and keeping track of them. I love D&D and I love that your son plays at school.
DeleteI was going to read Until the Clock Strikes Midnight, but had other review books too and since I hadn't downloaded that yet I decided to skip it. I know I'll still buy it for my school library and my students to read because that author is a good one. Hope you have a good week and your D&D character makes it! :-)

I really need to kick it into high gear to finish Until The Clock Strikes Midnight by it's due date. I am sure the kids at the school will love it! Thank you & I hope you have a good week as well.
DeleteGood luck with your challenges.
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteI'm working on reading the books I got for Christmas and also listening to Battle Ground by Jim Butcher so I can get the next book in that series.
ReplyDeleteI hope the meetup went well for your character. Have a great week! :)
ReplyDeleteThank you! Hope you have a great week as well.
DeleteI want to try Robin Hobb this year, my son has the first trilogy I’m going to borrow.
ReplyDeleteI hope your character survives the night!
Wishing you a lovely reading week
Robin Hobb's books are wonderful, excellent writing and plot lines. Hope you enjoy.
DeleteAw, always kinda disappointing to come back from the library empty-handed. I'm eager for my local library to get some more acquisitions budget or something, or swap some of their stock with a branch library, because I've read most of the "obvious" choices.
ReplyDeleteHope you have a good week, good luck with the DnD!
I know that I am very lucky with my local library and the picks that they have available. I hope yours is able to get some new stock.
DeleteHave a great week!
ReplyDeleteYou too!
DeleteGood luck to your character!
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteDid your character survive? It's been very cold here, too and we got dumped on with this big storm. Such is the life of a New Englander!
ReplyDeleteShe did survive! Lately, we haven't gotten a lot of snow in Michigan but we have been freezing cold.
DeleteI also don't usually get up too much when it's freezing outside. Hope you have a great week though!
ReplyDeleteGood luck with your challenges! It's been very cold here too. That means more reading time for me because I'm not going outside!
