What I Did:
I had a pretty quiet start to the week. Thursday, I drove 2 hours to my moms and had dinner with her, my step dad and 3 of my siblings - one of our better Thanksgivings honestly so that was nice. Friday, I went to my local used bookstore for their annual Black Friday Sale (it's the only sale they do through the year and it's fun because you pick an envelope out of a bowl and a slip of paper inside has the special you receive, this year I got 35% off of my purchase). After that, I went to the library and grabbed some holds and used their printer so I could get a PangoBooks order in the mail. I then went to Meijer, getting my weekly grocery shopping down - they also had Hey Dudes which are my favorite kind of shoe Buy 1 Get 1 for $1 so I got two new pairs of my favorite shoes which was nice. Saturday, I spent the day reading in bed. Sunday, my plans are to head to a local small business market and get some cleaning down around my home.
What I Read:
Books I finished: Pucking All The Way by Michelle Hercules (1 Star), Little Death by Nicole Blanchard (3.5 Stars, I really liked this novella and can't wait to read the next book as an ARC in December), a reread of Role Model by Rachel Reid (4 Stars - it made me cry happy tears at the end), Good Spirits by B.K. Borison (4 Stars) and When The Snow Settles by Rachel Laberge (3 Stars).
What I Checked Out From The Library:
Before We Came by Sloane St. James
Gender Queer: A Memoir by Maia Kobabe
I'll Get Back To You by Becca Grischow
Love You A Latke by Amanda Elliot
Lovelight Farms by B.K. Borison
Famous Last Words by Gillian McAllister - I got this book from the library back in March and gave it 5 stars and wanted a copy for my own shelves.
First Down by Grace Reilly.
Reading Goals Update:
I hit my pages goal for the year! It's not a very important goal, I just take what I got the year before and add 5,000 to it because my goal is always to read more than the year before.Last week on the blog:
This week on the blog - subject to change:
- November Wrap Up
- Top Ten Tuesday & Tell Me Something Tuesday: Under Rated Books or Authors
- HoHoHoReadathon Check in
- Down The TBR Hole

DeleteI read Gender Queer this year. It was very helpful for my understanding of gender-related designations. Have a lovely week!
ReplyDeleteI am looking forward to reading it for that reason!
DeleteGlad you had a nice Thanksgiving. What a great deal - 35% off!! Nice. I didn't buy any books, but I looked for some, they just weren't available from the independent store. I'll check again later this month.

Thank you for stopping by, Lauren!
DeleteSounds like it was a nice Thanksgiving! I used to always up my reading goal by 5 books a year because I always wanted to increase. But my reading time has changed so much in the past year or two that I'm setting the goal lower so I know I can meet it and not stress at the end of the year. I keep reading though even when I hit it! Hope you have a nice week!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on hitting your goal! I'm failing at all of mine. lol But this year has been stressful, so I'm cutting myself some slack.
ReplyDeleteI am glad you had a nice Thanksgiving. Congratulations on reaching your page goal. I have never set one of those. I have a copy of Gender Queer on my TBR shelf and look forward to reading it. I hope you have a good week and month of December.
