July 2025 Recap

This year has felt like the longest and slowest year of my life. I read 17 books which is the lowest number of books I have read since February but is still an incredible amount. I keep waiting for myself to hit a reading slump because I have never read like this in my entire life.

Reading Recap:

  • Change of Hart by Bailey Hannah | 4 Stars | I enjoyed coming back to this series and I can't wait for the next book to come out
  • Madison Square Murders by C.S. Poe | 3 Stars | This one just really wasn't for me due to a few things that happen. Check out my review here
  • Not Looking by Alaina Rose | 3.5 Stars | I really enjoyed reading an ARC of this one! Check out my review here
  • Poets Square: A Memoir In Thirty Cats | 5 Stars | Such a good memoir. Check out my thoughts here.
  • Riptide by Meghan Hollie | 4 Stars | This book surprised the hell out of me. Check out my review here.
  • Cash by Jessica Peterson | 3 Stars | I spent the first 100 pages of this not liking the FMC
  • Squad by Maggie Tokuda-Hall | 4 Stars | This werewolf graphic novel is very campy and very fun
  • The Seven Year Slip by Ashley Poston | 5 Stars | I loved basically everything about this
  • Gloves Off by Stephanie Archer | 4 Stars | Is it a recap by me if there isn't at least one Hockey Romance? I loved Alexei and Dr. Georgia Greene
  • Slap Shot Surprise by Melanie Harlow | 3 Stars | Ope, another Hockey Romance. This is one where I just didn't feel the love between the couple
  • The Prince and The Dressmaker | 3 Stars | This graphic novel is charming but something about it just didn't hit for me
  • Deep End by Ali Haselwood | 4 Stars | A Reread
  • The Original by Nell Stevens | 3 Stars | This historical fiction took me on quite the adventure
  • Saving Grace by EM Chandler | 3 Stars | Check out my ARC review here
  • My Boyfriend Is A Bear by Pamela Ribon | 3 Stars | A silly graphic novel that I enjoyed
  • Afterland by Lauren Beukes | 3 Stars | I never once knew where this book was headed
  • The Alpha King by Victoria Sue | 3 Stars | I needed Victoria to let these characters catch a break

  1. This year has definitely been a huge change for me in terms of reading count as well, and while I was really disheartened about it at the start of the year and sometimes do still get down about it, I've just come to accept that this is the way this year's going to be. 😂 17 is still a great number of books! I read The Seven Year Slip in July as well and loved it too. I hope August is a great month for you!
