Reading Recap: May 2025

After reading 18 books in March and 21 books in April, I expected to hit a reading slumping but that wasn't the case as I read 18 books in April. Here is a short recap for each of my reads. How many books did you read in May? Any new favorites? Let me know in the comments.
  1. Our Infinite Fates by Laura Steven | 2.5 Stars. Two people being reincarnated, always falling in love but also always killing each other. Sounds like an amazing plot but I did not like this one at all. Despite spanning so much time and so many different kinds of lives, this book lacks depth. I just couldn't get myself to care for any of the characters and I wasn't rooting for them to figure out why they were stuck in their loop.
  2. Give Me Butterflies by Jillian Meadows | 3 Stars. A cute grumpy x sunshine workplace romance. I liked the way that the leads supported each other.
  3. Galatea by Madeline Miller | 3 Stars. While not what I expected from this author, this short read was still good. You can check out my full thoughts on it here
  4. Fence Vol 2 by C.S. Pacat | 4 Stars.
  5. Fence Vol 3 by C.S. Pacat | 4 Stars. I am glad that I continued on in this graphic novel series.
  6. Protect by Paisley Hope | 3 Stars. A good romance, I liked the back and forth between the past and the present, I did like the first book in this series more though.
  7. Levi by Lexi James | 3 Stars. I think it would be a miracle if I made it through 1 month without reading a hockey romance. Check out my ARC review of this book here
  8. The Orc Gardener's Strawberry by Aurora Winters | This novella was kind of all over the place and I am all for oblivious characters but this FMC was too oblivious.
  9. Run, Little Bunny by Serena Pier | 3.5 Stars. It was fun to continue on in this series of holiday themed novellas and this one was probably my favorite so far.
  10. One Night with Her Mountain Orc by Jilli Waters | 2.5 Stars. I was on a bit of an orc kick this month and honestly didn't like this one
  11. Bar Down by Stef C.R. | 3 Stars. Another Hockey Romance. I was able to see an improvement in writing between this local to me authors debut and this book which was nice.
  12. Taproot by Keezy Young | 3.5 Stars. This was a fun read! I liked the art style. You can check out my full thoughts on it here.
  13. Luck of the Titanic by Stacey Lee | 4 Stars. A bittersweet read. You can check out my full thoughts on it here
  14. Games with the Orc by Kathryn Moon | 3.5 Stars, one of the smuttiest books I have read this year but I really enjoyed and will be checking out more from this author.
  15. Seeing Red by Bailey Hannah | 3 Stars. I loved Alive and Wells and was excited for more from this author but this one didn't hit the same as her debut did.
  16. Love Advice From The Great Duke of Hell by unfins | 2 Stars. This was not at all what I expected which was my own fault but I really didn't like it
  17. The Other Significant Others by Rhaina Cohen | 4 Stars, a non fiction book about the importance of friendship
  18. Whispers of Helena by Ashley Warren | 3.5 Stars, an ARC read that did not at all go down how I expected it to
  19. Second Edition by Cleo White | 4 Stars, this age gap romance was super smutty but I loved it, read it in one sitting.
  20. Casket Case by Lauren Evans | 3 stars, part of a challenge I gave myself, a perfectly average read
