The Sunday Salon (hosted by ReaderBuzz) is a place to link up and share what we have been doing during the week. It's a great opportunity to visit other blogs and join in the conversations going on there.

What I Did:

Another quiet week for me. Monday, I did my bi-weekly grocery shopping. Tuesday, I went to a local indie bookstore and then to Barnes and Noble to spend some money that I was given for Christmas. I decided not to do anything for New Years and didn't even make it to staying up until midnight. I have gotten back into coloring and haven't spent a lot of my free time doing color by number mystery pages. Friday, I had dinner with my younger siblings which is always a fun time. Saturday, I stayed in and did some cleaning. Sunday, I am thinking about heading to a silent book club to get myself out of the house for a couple of hours for something besides work or spending money.

What I Read:

Started the week with another reread - Common Goal by Rachel Reid (3.5 Stars). I then read and adored Married to the Alien Cowboy by Ursa Dax (4 Stars) and then Wrangled by the Alien Cowboy by Ursa Dax (4 Stars) Finally, I read The Shots You Take by Rachel Reid (3.5 Stars) and an ARC of Our Monstrous Hearts by Delilah Thorne (3 Stars).

What I Checked Out From The Library:

None - Missed my weekly trip to the library due to their holiday hours.

Books I Bought:

Bitter Burn by Sierra Simone.

Reading Goals/Challenges Update:

Reading Goal: 3/185
Pages Goal: 585/50,000
Alphabet Challenge: O, W (Decided to not yet use The Shots You Take because I don't want to use The for the T and I don't yet want to skip the The to use it for S if that makes sense - if later in the year, I find myself struggling to get letters, then I will look back on the books I read that started with The)
Monster Bingo: Vampires, Aliens (find out more about this challenge here)
Romance Reading Bingo: Published in 2026, Aliens/Robots, Second Chance (find out more about this challenge here)

Last week on the blog:

  • Grady Lake Mystery Series Review
  • Recs by the Alphabet: B
  • WWW Wednesday
  • 2025 DNFs
  • Until Death ARC Review

  1. I have gone to one silent book club meetup and I enjoyed it a lot. The host of the event has not had another one, but I wish she would.

Good luck with your goals for the year!

  2. Yay for already 3 books this year! I'm still working on the one I started at the beginning of the year, or it was one I picked up that I'd sort of started last summer. I need to finish it so I can get started on the first review book I have coming up in a week or so, so I can stay ahead of those. Have a great week!

  3. I feel like we live at the library in the colder months, lol. My kids love to go, and my son finishes his graphic novels/manga the same day he checks them out.
