ARC Review: Our Monstrous Hearts by Delilah Thorne

Thank you to the author for allowing me to read an ARC of this. 

Horror Romance? Sign me up. I say that I will read anything once and this book was definitely a test on if I actually mean that. Our Monstrous Hearts follows Cassandra as she prays to be taken away from her abusive home and The Monster who has been watching for years as he decides to answer her prayers. I liked watching Cassandra get away from her abuser and getting her revenge and I really enjoyed her discovering more about herself as she was free to at the monsters side. 

I wish The Monster had been more monstrous. With the exception of stealing Cassandra from her home, he really doesn't do anything too monstrous. He mostly sits back and watches her be monstrous which is nice like we love female empowerment, but I just wish he had done more.

Synopsis:

A half-dead monster haunts Rose Falls. They whisper that he is grotesque, that he feasts on bones and defiles women. I was trapped in my husband's shadow, forced to live a life not my own, but I’ve been suddenly drawn into the monster's world, seduced by sin and desire.

Tell Me Something Tuesday & Top Ten Tuesday: Underrated Authors

I thought it would be a hard list to make but I read a lot of indie authors and I always feel like indie authors are super underrated.
