Top Ten Tuesday: Books to get you out of a Reading Slump

Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.

August 12: Books Guaranteed to Put an End to Your Book Slump (Which books would you recommend to someone dealing with the dreaded book slump? No book is grabbing their attention or making them excited to sit down and read and they are suffering for it.)

This was a tough list to make because I wanted to keep going back to my list of 10 books I'd like to reread as the reason that I want to reread many of those is because I know that they will lift my mood and make me wanna read even more. For this list, I went with books that I know I love and books that I know are face paced and easy to get into.

1.Heartless by Elsie Silver (romance)
2. Out On A Limb by Hannah Bonam-Young (romance)
3. The Broken Girls (historical mystery)

4. Heartstopper by Alice Oseman (YA queer graphic novel)
5. A Good Girl's Guide to Murder by Holly Jackson (a ya thriller)
6. Spells for Forgetting (magical realism)

7. Half a Soul by Olivia Atwater (historical fantasy)
8. That's Not My Name by Megan Lally (ya thriller)
9. Divine Rivals by Rebecca Ross (ya fantasy)
10. Cold Case: A True Crime Collection by Cheyna Roth (non fiction, short accounts of true crime cases)

    1. Did you hear that the Alice, the actors and some producers got together to film a movie to wrap up the storyline because of Netflix cancelling?

  8. You're so right about the top picks being the ones you want to re-read being the slump-busting recommendations! I had a similar approach. I didn't think of Heartstopper, though, which was an oversight as it's definitely one I want to re-read and an excellent pick! Great job.
