What I Did:
Had a fairly busy week. Monday was my weekly trip to the library - I checked out: Piranesi by Susanna Clarke (hoping to read it in time to join a book club the library is hosting in September), Someone You Can Build A Nest In by John Wiswell & With A Vengence by Riley Sager. Tuesday was a quiet day. Wednesday, I got some blood work done and then after work, I had a late lunch with two of my siblings so that was nice. Thursday, I went to a local pizza place and had dinner & played trivia with some friends. Friday, I got my grocery shopping done. Saturday, I worked a short shift and then spent the afternoon writing book reviews. Sunday, I am letting myself have a rest day - I plan to do nothing but read.
What I Read:
I started and finished Wrong Place Wrong Time by Gillian McAllister and due to my dead dad issues, the book made me cry. I finished an ARC of Jeweler To The Blessed by Jillian Witt - see below for the link to my review. I started Roll For Romance by Lenora Woods, an ARC of Hat Trick by Tilly Ridge & S.R. Clark, Smolder by Tracy Solheim and kept working on Heavenly Tyrant by Xiran Jay Zhao. I think I am in a bit of a reading slump since nothing keeps my attention for very long.
Reading Goals Update:
I decided to bump up my read goal for the year and my page goal for the year. Jeweler To The Blessed gave me another letter in the Alphabet Challenge.

You had a week filled with fun activities!
ReplyDeleteAnd your Alphabet Challenge is coming along beautifully.
Thank you!
DeleteOoh, I love Piranesi! Hope you enjoy. I remember reading it all in one go, actually!
ReplyDeleteHearing that you read it in one sitting has me even more excited to pick it up. I need a read like that in my life right now.
DeletePiranesi is on my TBR too. Congrats on increasing your reading goals! I'm doing an alphabet challenge too, I need to update my progress. Have a good week!
ReplyDeleteThank you! You too!
DeleteWow, great job on your challenges. You are moving right along! :)
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteI have not read it yet, but I own it, have you read The Q by Beth Brower? That would work for your challenge, i was going to try and come up with a few others for your other letters as well...If you like Historical fiction-Hope Between the Pages by Pepper Basham. The others are harder, but I am sure there is something out there...
ReplyDeleteI will look into The Q! Thank you for sharing.
DeleteI loved Wrong, Place Wrong Time. Sorry to hear it brought up upsetting memories of loss for you! Hope you have a great week!
ReplyDeleteI've been recommended Riley Sager and hope to try something soon. Nice activities with friends and family this week.
ReplyDeleteAnne - Books of My Heart
My favorite Riley Sager is Survive The Night. Highly Recommend that one.
DeleteYou are doing great with your Alphabet Challenge. I have to work more on mine. Hope you have a great week!
ReplyDeleteYou too!
DeleteSounds like a good week! I hope you got to have your Sunday reading day as planned. I’m sorry your dead dad issues cropped up. It’s such a huge loss.

DeleteI hardly ever go to my library now that my kids are grown. I still us the online services, but I miss the community of the library.
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear you've been in a bit of a slump. I hope you find something that captures your interest and that you love!
