Ranking of Christina Lauren books

Christina Lauren is a writing duo made up of best friends named Christina Hobbs and Lauren Billings. They have written over 2 dozen novels - most of the adult romances but there are a few YA novels mixed in there. I personally have read 19 of their novels so I wanted to rank them all and let you know which ones I recommend the most. Have I not read one of your favorites? Let me know in the comments below.

1. Josh and Hazel's Guide to Not Dating - Published in 2018. I LOVED this book. This book had everything that I love in a romance novel. I loved watching their friendship develop, I had a smile that I couldn't get rid of during their double dates and how obvious it was that they were into each other. I liked Hazel being her weird self and the insecurities she had about people accepting her.

2. Love & Other Words - Published in 2018. This book is an emotional roller coaster. I really enjoyed the back and forth between the past and the present. I loved how reading is such a big and loved thing for both of the main characters.

3. The True Love Experiment -2023. | DNA Duo #2 | The tension between the FMC & MMC in this book is amazing. The main plot line is a romance author re-dating all of her exes for a reality TV show and she falls in love with her producer in the process. I loved it, after reading all of the other books on this list, this book reignited by love for the author duo.

4. Sweet Filthy Boy -2014. | Wild Seasons Book 1 | This book is fun and ridiculous. Ansel is like a French puppy, I loved him so much. It was nice to watch Mia become comfortable in her skin. The roleplaying they did to loosen up around each other was fun to read.

5. The Soulmate Equation - 2021. | DNA Duo #1 | I liked Jess and her struggles as a single mom. Juno was a wonderfully written child. I also really liked River especially as we got to know him more. I liked the happy little family they were by the end of the book. I legit had a smile that would not leave my face the entire time I was reading it.

6. The Honey-Don't List - 2020. I liked Carey a lot and I related to her a bit. I wasn't sure about James at first but by the end I loved him as well.

7. The Paradise Problem - 2024. This one has a marriage of convenience that becomes real during a tropical getaway for his sister's wedding where they are trying to prove to everyone that they've truly been in love the entire time of their marriage. For a bit, I wasn't sure how they'd have a happy ending, but everything worked out with the decisions that were made, and the epilogue was super sweet.

8. Roomies - 2017. I especially liked Holland because she was an adult without her life together and as an adult without their life together, I find it relatable. The relationship between her and Calvin was great especially as it went from marriage of convenience to the real deal.

9. Dirty Rowdy Thing - 2014 | Wild Seasons Book 2 | I did like this one a lot. I wish Harlow and Finn had communicated better about what they wanted

10. In A Holidaze - 2020. This book differs from the others on this list as it involves a time loop. I wish there had been more loops honestly. The worst part is the MMC shows no interest in the FMC until he finds out about her feelings and then he pulls a total 180 which I was not a fan of.

11. Autoboyography - 2017 | This book differs from the rest as it is the only MM book on the list and it is . This book though almost felt like not enough, like things aren't resolved until the very end and the happy moments between the couple earlier in the book weren't fully happy because of everything that was keeping them from being fully together. I wish there had been a happy epilogue with them together instead of an ending that just presented you with the idea that things had worked out in a way that they could now make it work. I did like the theme of writing throughout. It was very nice.

12. Wicked Sexy Liar - 2016. | Wild Seasons Book 4 | Wild Season's series follows a trio of three guy friends meeting and falling in love with a trio of four girlfriends which makes this book unnecessary.  The two characters were hardly a part of the group, one being a new roommate and the other being the ex of one of the group members. I think I would have liked this one more if it hadn't been a part of the series.

13. Dark Wild Night - 2015. | Wild Seasons Book 3 | At the time of reading, I ranked this book fairly well but now it's one that I remember the least about.

14. My Favorite Half Night Stand - 2018. The group of friends is wonderful, each of them with their own unique personalities. Reid Campbell is legit perfect, probably my favorite of all the Christina Lauren men. I wasn't a big fan of Millie and her actions for most of the book but by the end, I liked her.

15. Something Wilder - 2022. This book felt less than a romance than the others on this list. The adventure aspect takes the main seat with the romance feeling more like a side plot or an afterthought. It is a good book; it just wasn't what I had come to expect from Christina Lauren so it doesn't rank higher.

16. Dating You / Hating You - 2017. I liked the almost dating to hating back to dating but I didn't like the overall storyline. I'm also tired of books where the male love interest sees something sexist happening to the main female character at work and he just sits there.

17. The House - 2015. This book is one of the few YA books that this duo has published which is funny because the characters in this book were pretty horny. Think Disney's Smart House but less computers.

18. Twice In A Blue Moon - 2019.This one is enjoyable, but I can't say it was anything special. I liked the first 100 pages a lot because I find that typically when characters have a history together you only get that history in brief mentions, but Twice in a Blue Moon gives the entire history from start to finish. The rest was kind of predictable.

19. The Unhoneymooners - 2019. This is the very first Christina Lauren book that I ever read, and I am very glad that I kept reading them after this one. I find this book absolutely ridiculous. Like none of it would ever actually happen but it's fun.
