Book Review: Hunt Me! (I Crave the Chase) by Fae Quin

Fae Quin’s Spooky Boys series returns with werewolves! A big thank you to Fae for giving me a chance to read an ARC of this novel.

I am a huge fan of werewolf and alpha & omega stories, so I was super excited to see Fae’s take on the shapeshifter side of things after getting a taste for her omegaverse in The Devil Takes novella. We got a little bit of Jeffrey in Bite Me! as he is Blair’s adopted brother, but it was nice to get into his head in Hunt Me! His experience with Lydia was much different from Blair’s while still being a terrible time and he is coping with returning to his hometown and being around the older brother he left behind and the younger brother that was born after he left. Mutt is a big alpha with a heart of gold who is determined to show Jeffery that he is worthy of love. I loved them both as individuals and as a couple. I also loved all of the side characters - new and old. Mutt’s brothers are introduced, and they are all so different but very loveable. It was nice seeing Blair, Richard and Collin especially while they all healed their relationships with Jeffery. There were even a couple of cameos from Pru and Luca who are my favorite spooky boys from Possess Me!

This is where we get to the negative part of this review and the reason, I waited a bit to post this - I have read all of Fae’s books and it is one of my least favorites. Mutt is stubborn as hell, not talking to his brothers or Jeffrey about a couple of major things which was honestly my least favorite thing about this book. I wouldn’t call it the miscommunication trope, it’s just straight up no communication. Jeffery kept figuring out things that Mutt was hiding and not telling him he knew - he just kept letting Mutt think he didn’t know which I thought was kind of silly. The book is also very long, and things are wrapped so quickly and honestly quite easily at the end.

  1. Unfortunately, sounds like a couple men I know and how they communicate... no communication at all, lol. Sounds like an interesting read!
