Book Review: Deep End by Ali Hazelwood
Me liking this book as much as I did honestly shocked me. I DNF'd Love Hypothesis when it first came out and I believe that Bride would have been an absolute banger if it had been released in 2009. I honestly wasn't even planning on reading it until I saw the reactions it was getting on Booktok. Based on the reactions, I thought this was going to be nothing but smut. It's not though, in my opinion, it's a good exploration of BDSM and light kink. Scarlett and Lukas communicate so well with each other when it comes to what they want in bed and reading on as they explored was very enjoyable. In general, I liked Scarlett and her inner turmoil. She's struggles so much with balancing school and diving. Lukas is an A+ book boyfriend, I honestly loved him. I learned way more about competitive diving and swimming than I ever thought that I would but I couldn't help but cheer for Scarlett as she got past her mental block and started doing better and better.
I could have done with less of the Other Woman drama but I feel like that whenever OWD is a major plot point.
